After Banner Hulk defeats him, Abomination dreads the idea of Modok even finding him so he still takes Kate as a bystander to lure the Hulk to Modok instead. Abomination even tells Banner Hulk that the mind beams are how Modok hurt Abomination and says that Modok could kill Hulk. Modok destroys Abomination right after a demonstration, and Banner Hulk fails to beat Modok even while Modok was distracted by Ms. Modok. Banner Hulk feels Modok spared him and could have easily killed him if Modok cared to -The Incredible Hulk (1968) issue #290
