Abomination was beaten so bad by the Hulk in the past that he pathologically dreads fighting him. Modok and his mind beams harm Abomination so much that he cries. Abomination even fights the Hulk so that Modok will be satisfied & leave him alone. After Banner Hulk defeats him, Abomination dreads the idea of Modok even finding him so he still takes Kate as a bystander to lure the Hulk to Modok instead. Abomination even tells Banner Hulk that the mind beams are how Modok hurt Abomination and says that Modok could kill Hulk. Modok destroys Abomination right after a demonstration, and Banner Hulk fails to beat Modok even while Modok was distracted by Ms. Modok.
